At the front-end, we look at how to screen machine learning inventions for patent protection in the United States. We examine classification and examination of ML inventions at the USPTO. We will focus on concrete examples of machine learning technology and applications in web services and drug discovery. Along the way, we highlight recent trends and strategies with specific application to machine learning inventions.
