Intellectual Property Office of China: AI System Development Status and Plans

The following presentation was given by the Intellectual Property Office of China during the Seventh IP5 Global Dossier Task Force meeting held in March 2021.

China reported the following:

The current infrastructure in CNIPA was established in early 2010’s which does not efficiently support the cutting-edged NET/AI. Improvement on infrastructure is necessary.

The infrastructure improvement construction started in 2020, and will be completed in 2021 which could give stronger support to AI systems. The AI-tools for search, examination and classification will move to the Cloud Platform in 2021 after infrastructure improvement.
