Comparison of Automated Search Engines in the Patent Domain; Performance and Analysis

These are the slides from a presentation on September 30 2021 by Burkhard Schlecter of ABO in Vienna given at the 26th CEPIUG User Group Meeting.

Abstract:The results of patent searches performed using a number of different commercial- and one free-to-use automated search engines were benchmarked against results from corresponding human, intellectually performed searches.  This presentation gives the results from, and conclusions about the utility of the different search platforms by comparing their performance over the last three years.

Burkhard updated his previous work from 2019 when he previously compared the results of several automated systems against the results provided by a human patent searcher.
